On the Loose

Yikes there was a surfer way out and he looks so tiny by the big wave. The wave size yesterday was about 8-10 feet and it was so awesome to watch those daredevil way out there waiting for the right wave to ride. Yes, I do envy these guys, I will just dream that I am way out there surfing with them. What a nice sunny day to be at the beach.

Stand up Paddle surf

Stand up paddling is the new craze now. They said that it's a good way to loose weight and to keep fit. The sport is an ancient form of surfing, and began as a way for surfing instructors to manage their large groups of learner surfers, as standing on the board gave them a higher viewpoint, increasing visibility of what was going on around them - such as incoming swell. To begin with, this started with using a one-bladed paddle, whilst standing on a normal length surfboard. The popularity of the modern sport of SUP has its origination in the Hawaiian Islands. In the early 1960s, the Beach Boys of Waikiki would stand on their long boards, and paddle out with outrigger paddles to take pictures of the tourists learning to surf. This is where the term "Beach Boy Surfing", another name for Stand Up Paddle Surfing, originates.

Going Japanese

Shabu-shabu ........................................................ Sukiyaki

Yakiniku

We love Japanese food. Some our our favorite is shabu-shabu, sukiyaki and yakiniku. Sukiyaki is a one pot dish same as shubu-shabu, the difference is sukiyaki is a litle sweeter than shabu-shabu and shabu-shabu is much savory. If we have either shabu-shabu or sukiyaki, I always fair it with yakiniku which is grilled meat. The fun part of it is you have to cook it on the dinning table.

I really love TIKI's. There are different types of tikis, but the one I like most is the "Kucky Tiki." I told my husband that if we will have a new home back home where we plan to retire, I want to have the house decorated in Hawaiian theme with tikis in it. I am also collecting some, Hawaiian fish hooks, swords and all decorative Hawaiian stuff.

Social Network Troubles

It's fun to be in a social network where you can meet your long lost friends, distance relatives and make new friends. This is making our life easy to catch up with siblings and close friends. But there's things that I hate most o social network where your buddies or "cyber friends" make it like their journal and updating "nonsense" things that they are doing every second of their life! Hey who would like to know your minute by minute update anyway?
My own opinion is, I never or refrain from using my real name online for so many reasons and my husband agrees with me. Another thing is, who do you THINK wants to know your life UPDATES and BRAGS? Definitely, not me! Some people open their book too much on social network and if someone else commented that make them feel offended then it lead out to "world war." That's why I refrain from commenting to somebody else post, based on my observation people misinterpret your comment and it makes them feels bad which lead your relationship to sour.
Just a reminder to those on "Social Network, just be mindful of what you are doing and don't get carried away because people will interpret things differently. Be responsible and POST at your own risk! Honestly I'm just hook on it BECAUSE of the GAMES.

Windy

We experience a switch in weather after the Tsunami scares last Saturday. Since Sunday the trade wind came back gusting on 15-25, it's been raining too. I saw some tourist on TV, they were from the mainland and was about the windy condition here in Hawaii and the simply said "We love it, the wind is Velvety."
Well, we honestly need the rain and the wind to blow those VOGS away. It's so cold outside though. Yesterday I felt so cold at mid morning and I need to warm up myself because I have to do some baking and cleaning. It was so cold inside the house and bright and shinny outside. I went for a quick walk, sunny yet drizzling but when the clouds cleared a bit, the sun felt so good on my skin.

CellPhones is BANNED!

The county of Oahu officially passed the law to BAN Cell phone and other electronic devices while driving since mid last year. This means you cannot use phone for calling or texting while driving, no cameras, and gaming system, the only thing allowed is hands free calling device or blue tooth.
But I always saw people still doing these stupid things and risk other people's lives. Law is a law that you have to obey it. The other day my husband told me that when he is driving down the freeway a lady almost hit him and that lady was texting. He honk on her and she only say sorry and continue on her "STUPID BUSINESS." Don't they realized what they are doing is risking other peoples life? Is a single text so important than your own life or safety? I always, always saw people on the phone and on the freeway, always, mean every day. Now I wonder if how does police department caught these people who don't follow simple law.
