Help HAITI

As the saying goes that "Charity start in a HOME." Haiti needs our help in what ever amount we can. There are so many ways to donate to Haiti, one way is donate to RED CROSS by texting "HAITI" to 90999, you verify it's legitimate when you saw the first lady Michelle Obama on TV. You can also check out the site hopeforhaitinow.org , UNICEF make your pledge.
I believe that it's better to donate money to them through this organization.

Helping Hand

When I watch the poor people of Haiti suffering from the earthquake devastation my heart was with them. If ever I am still free of obligation and if given a chance, I am so sure that I will volunteer at Haiti.
The Haiti incident reminds me of my First love and supposed first career of choice which is being a "Social Worker" because I want to help to people in need. But then maybe I was not inline to that job. But in my heart I am still willing to give my kind help to any people that need it.
I am watching the "Hope for Haiti now show" and was so touch by the people in Haiti that they are trying to pick up the pieces to rebuild their lives. I was so touch by what George Clooney said that religion means we have to take good care of each other what ever religion we belong what ever the color of our skin.

Addicted to Cooking

During my days off I devote my time doing house hold chores and of course COOKING. When I cook new dish my husband will say "Your such an ADDICT!" he meant I'm addicted to cooking. I know he is grateful that I love to cook because he also loves to eat, he is my fan and my ultimate critic.
We were laughing on our dinner last night when he joke on me that I felt crippled if I can't cook in a day, which is true. Sometimes cooking is my way of relaxation or "stress buster," sometimes I just cook to release my stress but I don't eat what I'm cooking.

Baked CRAB Dip

It was new years day when my co-worker sneak in crab dip with crackers for us to snack on, it was so yummy. I ask for the recipe and she said it was the "easiest crab dip" ever but then she forgot to give me the recipe.
I search online and found one with the ingredients close to the one she made. But again I change the measurements based on what I feel is better. It was easy indeed and serve it as "Hors d'Ĺ“uvre". The hubby love it and it became our dinner. I serve it with thin wheat crackers, he ask for a wine or bubbly. He end up drinking the bubbly with it.

"Beer" Canned Chicken

We love chicken, my husband prepares deep fried chicken. But I have another take to it that will make the skin crispy and the meat is moist. Beer can chicken is the way to do it but if you don't have any beer in hand just use what ever you have. In this case I used canned juice since we run out of beer and we don't buy canned beer. Small to medium size chicken is the best size for this way of cooking. So easy to prepare, just do a butter and herb rub and coat it under the skin evenly, roast for an hour and dinner is serve.

"Cioppino" my TAKE!

My take to the "Cioppino." We do love seafood, the last time we went to the wet market my husband bought 2 lbs manila clams but he wasn't satisfied because it cost him 10 bucks for just 17 pcs small clams. Good thing we found a good deal mixed bag of seafood at the wholesale store, much cheaper than the clams.
When were on our way home he ask me if what on my mind for dinner, I said, since we have the mixed seafood and frozen mahi-mahi. I'm thinking of seafood stew or soup, he is skeptical because he never taste or see me cook seafood stew before. I have something in my mind, no recipe at all just gut feeling recipe, lol. I used tomato sauce, thyme, rosemary, butter, celery, spinach and that's my take of "Cioppino."
He said it was good, taste better than the soup we order in a fancy seafood resto that cost him a fortune. I have to write the recipe before I forget and named it....?

Cheesecake

It's almost birthday of my other half. No need to ask him what he wanted for his birthday because it wouldn't be cake, he loves pies and cheese cake and the only cheesecake he love is the plain cheesecake.
Last Christmas I made Marble cheesecake but he doesn't like it that much. For new year I made plain cheesecake, after 2 days I can't find any leftover on the fridge.

Calamities

We always watch history channel particularly the Nostradamus effect. As what the Bible said and the predictions that signs includes wars, earthquake, hunger and so on.
When the Haiti earthquake happened, we are shaken of the scenes on TV. Then people link it that end of the world is near and Haiti quake is one of the sign. My husband said that earthquakes was already happening before, I told him "yes it does but if you compare the time span in between is much shorter and getting shorter each time. Calamities seems to happen back to back which is a little scary. But then everything has it's ending, so I always tell my husband "just enjoy your life."

IDEAL Man / Woman?

Is there something as "Ideal Man/Woman"? I came to this question because when I'm growing up, I used to read Princesses Story book which at the end of their story they found their knight in shinning armor and live happily ever after. =)
But in reality, of course, it's not true. Like for instance, you get attracted to a guy because of his squeaky clean look. But mostly of this ideal looking guys are not fun to have relationship with, most of this guys end up being single. Sometimes it's better to leave your ideal prince charming as he is and never have relationship with him nor know his background or personal matters, because I'm sure he will end up to be not your "Ideal Man/Woman".

So DAMN of ME!

I was looking for my passport today because I wanted to make sure of it's expiration date. I search on our home office drawer where I keep my important papers but can't find it. I search on our closet where I usually hide important papers but it's not there. At my husband's case where he hide his important documents along with our marriage contract and birth certificates but still can't find it. I double checked everywhere, where I usually hide documents but my passport is nowhere to be found. Ugh! where are you my passport. If I can't find it until next month, I will surely file for lost at the consulate.

China man's hat

China man hats island by Kualoa ranch. I miss our road trip that we do couple times a year. We usually go around the island and have a few stops on our favorite spots. Hopefully we can do it again this year.
I also missed the sand bar but that will be on summer, for us to enjoy the warm sun and water.

Chilling OUT

Enjoying my 3 days off. I was listening music from from hubby's mp3 player and just chilling out trying to do some blogging task. I have to do my task as much as I can before I get caught back to work.
Earlier I was also browsing online to look for present for my dear hubby's upcoming birthday. He is so bad he lost his Oakley sunglasses the last time he went fishing with he's friend. I know he want one again so I'm checking out for one and will get it before he's birthday.

I miss u Beach

I wanted to go to the beach today for a quick swim but hubby reminded me that it's kind of cloudy, chilly and looks like it will rain. I miss the beach a lot and if it will get colder the following weeks as winter chills then it means that beach is far as summer season.
We don't go to the beach on winter, we will never enjoy the chilly water and winter winds. The ocean is rough too during winter season, not so ideal for a swim.

Cooking Marathon

I was working for 4 days straight and all my schedules are until 9pm. I feel sorry for the husband that misses my home cook dinner. Now I am off for 3 days and he is taking advantage and ask me to cook him good foods which I am so happy to do. Last Sunday night I made calamari, yesterday we went to the market to get fresh shrimp for garlic shrimp and manila clams that I serve as soup for dinner. Today, I might cook fish soup or seafood stew, but I'm craving for tamales.
